We were excited to see what Bangkok was all about. Talk about a busy city. First on the list was The Grand Palace. WOW… this place is beautiful and a must see if you go to Bangkok. The grounds are huge with so much to see. It was built in 1782, and for 150 years the home of the Thai King, the royal court and administrative seat of gov. As we walked around the grounds, we were pretty excited about our run-in with Actor Kellan Lutz and his buddy Drew Kenney (from the Bachelorette) . Haha, made our day pretty exciting seeing hot babes at the Grand Palace.

Make sure when going to the Grand Palace that you dress properly. They have a dress code to enter. Men must wear pants and shirts with sleeves (no tank tops), woman must be modestly dressed, no bare shoulders. If you do show up at the front gate improperly dressed, there is a booth near the entrance that can provide clothes to cover up (a deposit is required).

After a few hours at the Grand Palace we made our way over to Wat Arun (or Temple of the Dawn). It was easy to get there after the Grand Palace. We walked over to Pier 8 and then hopped onto a small shuttle boat that takes you across the river for only 3 baht (currency). Once you get to Wat Arun, entry to the temple is 100 baht. This temple is stunning with its colorfully decorated spires, and it stands over the water. It’s really cool climbing the steep stairs to the top. Enjoy the views, you will love it!   Stay tuned for where we flew to after our stay in Bangkok.

Travel on! XX, Candice
